Director’s Welcome

The School of Letters and Sciences is a vibrant community of scholars who pursue innovative approaches to teaching, mentoring, research, and community engagement.

The administrative home of the School of Letters and Sciences is on the emerging Downtown Phoenix campus. The faculty are committed to interdisciplinary, responsive curricula that serve the general education and non-major requirements for students in nursing, public programs, and journalism, as well as robust course offerings for students who want to explore possible majors.

The school also offers a university-wide Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree. The sequence of core classes has been designed carefully to teach students about foundations of interdisciplinarity, bridging ideas, and portfolio building. The faculty offer rigorous, creative approaches to interdisciplinary thinking through small classes, applied projects, and individual attention.

We invite you to visit the school, participate in our programs, and become an active member of our community.

Frederick C. Corey, Ph.D.
