The Desert Gold Chorale:

  • Is open to students, staff, faculty and the community.
  • Provides music.
  • Requires no audition or prerequisites in order to participate!
  • Welcomes all voice types.
  • Requires 1-credit-hour course registration (MUP 394) FOR STUDENTS.
  • Requires participation fee of $35 per semester FOR STAFF, FACULTY AND COMMUNITY SINGERS.

The Desert Gold Chorale meets once a week to rehearse on Tuesdays 12 to 1:15 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre of the Polytechnic’s new Applied Arts Pavilion (map). The ensemble prepares for performance standard choral repertoire such as Bach, Mozart, Schubert and Handel, as well as contemporary pop, jazz and musical theatre, and including—Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George & Ira Gershwin, Arlen & Harburg, and Rodgers & Hammerstein—from “The Great American Songbook.”
